Finding out when we made our Facebook account used to be unbelievably simple. All we needed to do was just go to our profile page, and then click on the earliest part of our Timeline. However, with constant redesigns and updates to the Facebook interface, the ease of finding this information changed as well.
Thankfully, there are still some ways you can find out exactly when you first joined Facebook. Here are a couple of methods that might help:
Table of Contents
Method 1: Look at your Profile information
Apart from being the quickest, this method might also be the best, as it will work for everyone, no matter how old or new your account might be. Here’s how it works:
- Load the Facebook website in your preferred browser, and log in to your profile if necessary.
- Press the down arrow in the upper-right corner, and then go to Settings & Privacy > Settings.
- Press Your Facebook Information on the left-hand side.
- Here, press Access Your Information, and then press the Profile Information section to expand.
- In this segment, you will see the exact date (D/M/Y) when you joined Facebook.
Method 2: Check your e-mails
Considering the fact that you need an e-mail address in order to join Facebook, checking your older e-mails is another good way of finding out when you joined the website if your inbox isn’t cleared out.
Whenever a new profile is created, Facebook will send out an e-mail welcoming you to the website and also asking you to confirm the entered e-mail address. The date of this particular e-mail will be the same as the date you joined Facebook.
If you want to follow this method, simply visit your e-mail client and type ‘Facebook’ into the search bar. You could also use any advanced search options, if available, to narrow down the search to a specific time or date frame. Once you finally locate the welcoming e-mail, simply look at the date it was sent to know exactly when you first created your Facebook profile.
Method 3: Take a look at the Activity Log
Another way you could find out when you first joined Facebook is by scrolling through the Activity Log on your profile, as this section holds all your Facebook activity in chronological order. However, this method might be best for those with newer accounts, or profiles where there hasn’t been much activity throughout the years, due to its time-consuming nature.
If this is your preferred method, you can access the Activity Log section by following these steps:
- Load the Facebook website in your preferred browser, and log in to your profile if necessary.
- Press the down arrow in the upper-right corner, and then go to Settings & Privacy > Settings.
- Press on the Your Facebook Information tab on the left-hand side.
- Here, click on Activity Log to open your entire activity history on Facebook since the beginning.
- Now, simply scroll down until the end, where you will see your earliest activity.
- If there is too much information to scroll through, you could also click the blue Filter tab at the top, and narrow your search by choosing a specific year, month, or type of activity to access your earliest activity on Facebook.
Using one of the three simple methods described above, you will hopefully manage to find out the exact date when you first joined Facebook, in a matter of minutes.
