Houseparty is an incredibly fun and popular video chatting application that has gained massive traction at the beginning of this year, mostly due to its ease of starting video chats, and the interesting game options it offers. Although Houseparty is more often used on smartphones, this app also comes in the form of a Google Chrome extension, allowing you to easily chat with friends and family while using your computer.
However, if the Houseparty extension starts to bug, lag, or otherwise disrupt your chatting experience, or you’re simply missing some new features the app has rolled out, it might be time to update this Chrome extension. Here are some ways you could do this:
Updating all of your Chrome extensions
Unfortunately, Google Chrome doesn’t provide the option of manually updating individual extensions, as of yet. The only way you could update Houseparty at the moment is to update all of your Chrome extensions, including this one. Here’s how:
- Using your computer, open Google Chrome.
- In the URL bar at the top, type in chrome://extensions and then press Enter. Or, you could also click on the three dots in the upper-right corner, press Settings, and then select Extensions from the left-hand side.
- Once the Extensions page has loaded, click on the switch right next to Developer Mode in the upper-right corner.
- Now, simply click on the Update button at the top to update all your extensions, including Houseparty.
Even though Google has made the process of updating extensions on Chrome unnecessarily complicated for such a simple action, you can still easily update Houseparty (and any other extensions for that matter) just by following the helpful guidelines listed above.
