Updating the Facebook app manually
If you only want to update the Facebook app and no other application on your phone or tablet, the best option would be to do so manually by following the steps below:
- Tap the Play Store app to open, which can usually be found on the home screen or in the app library. Sign in if necessary.
- Using the search bar at the top, find the Facebook application.
- Tap the first result to open.
- If there are any updates available, you will see a green Update button here. Simply press it to update the Facebook app on your device.
Turning on automatic app updates
In case you want to skip the process of manually updating your applications and ensure you’re always using the newest version, the best option might be to turn on the automatic app updates on your device. Here’s how:
- Tap the Play Store app to open, which can usually be found on the home screen or in the app library. Sign in if necessary.
- Pres the upper-left part of the screen, and then select Settings.
