The browsing experience can often be ruined by a myriad of advertisements, from more subtle banner ads to the indescribably disruptive and annoying pop-ups. For that reason, most of us have some sort of a blocking extension installed in our browsers, and AdBlock Plus is arguably the best of the bunch.
However, oftentimes a website won’t allow us to gain access unless we disable our AdBlocker, or you might want to allow advertisements for some other reason. In those cases, your best bet is to disable your AdBlock Plus extension temporarily, in order to be able to browse. Here are some ways you can do just that:

How to disable AdBlock Plus on a specific website
In case you only want to disable your AdBlocker on one specific website in order to access it, you can do so by following the steps below:
- Using your computer, open your preferred internet browser.
- Next, load the specific website where you’d like to disable your blocker.
- Access the ‘Extensions’ section of your browser. Depending on the browser you’re currently using, you can do the following:
- Chrome & Firefox – The AdBlock Plus icon (stop sign with ABP) should already be located in the top-right corner of the browser. If not, press the three dots in the top-right corner, and choose AdBlock Plus from the provided list.
- Safari – The AdBlock Plus icon should be located in the top-left corner of the browser.
- Edge – The AdBlock Plus icon should already be located in the top-right corner of the browser. If not, press the three dots, choose Extensions, and then select AdBlock Plus from the provided list.
- Now, simply press the AdBlock Plus icon (stop sign with ABP). Don’t right-click on it.
- In the drop-down window that appears, toggle the This website or This page switch. This will automatically disable the AdBlocker on the website you’re currently visiting.
Note: In case you want to enable AdBlock Plus on the specific website once again, you can follow these same steps, only press on the ‘Disabled on This Site’ option.
How to disable AdBlock Plus in the entire browser
If you wish, you also have the option of disabling your AdBlock Plus extension on the entire browser. Here’s how:
- Using your computer, open your preferred internet browser.
- Next, access the ‘Extensions’ section of your browser. Depending on the browser you’re currently using, you can do the following:
- Chrome – Click on the three dots in the top-right corner. Go to More Tools, and then press Extensions.
- Firefox – Click on the three lines at the top, and then select Add-ons.
- Safari – Press on Safari, select the Preferences option, and then click on the Extensions button.
- Edge – Click on the three dots, and then select Extensions.
- On the ‘Extensions’ page of your browser, find the AdBlock Plus section.
- Finally, disable your AdBlock Plus extension by unchecking the box, toggling off the switch, or clicking on the Disable button, depending on your browser.
- You might also want to close down your browser and then open it once again to confirm your changes.
Note: In case you want to enable AdBlock Plus in your browser once again, you can follow these same steps, only this time check the box/toggle on the switch/click the Enable button.
How to disable AdBlock Plus using an iPhone
If you are using the AdBlock Plus application on your iPhone (not available on Android) you can disable it by following these steps:
- On your homescreen or in the App Library, click on AdBlock Plus icon (stop sign with ABP).
- Next, click on the Settings icon (screwdriver and wrench) located at the bottom.
- Finally, toggle off the switch located next to AdBlock Plus at the top. This will disable your blocker until you enable it once again using these same steps.
