How to Rename a PDF File

PDF files are some of the most commonly used extensions nowadays, particularly when it comes to the business and academic aspects of our lives. Apart from text, they also allow us to include features such as images and hyperlinks into our documents, making them an incredibly useful file extension.

However, sometimes you might receive a PDF file via email with an overly long or unrecognizable name, or you might have even accidentally saved a PDF you created yourself under the wrong name. In either case, renaming your file will make it much easier to locate on your device, giving you the opportunity to utilize it more efficiently.

To that end, here are some ways you could rename your PDF files, depending on the device you’re currently using:

Using a Windows computer

If you’re currently on your Windows PC or laptop, you can effortlessly rename your PDF files by following the steps below:

  2. Once the file has been found, right-click on it and then choose the Rename option from the drop-down menu. Remember not to open the file beforehand.
  3. Now, simply enter the new name you’d like to give to your PDF file.
