WhatsApp has recently seen a significant change in privacy policy as it is now linked to Facebook. This means that a lot of people – likely yourself included, are thinking about how and if they want to continue using the platform.
One consideration is WhatsApp groups where many people chat, and you may not know all of them in real life. Leaving such groups whether the Facebook link concerns you or not may be required as you may find yourself done with the topic or concerned that you don’t enjoy it anymore. It is easy to leave WhatsApp groups, and another alternative is muting if you don’t want to be bothered by notifications from the group anymore but also don’t want to leave.

You can leave a group with simple clicks on your phone just follow the steps below and the group will be of the past. It is important to note that messages you have already sent will not be deleted and others in the group may still be able to see them depending on the group settings (for example if the users automatically download photos from groups these will end up on their devices when you send them).
To just mute the group, select mute after step 4, Mute is on the way to Leave Group and is found before the list of names and numbers.
