As a massively popular streaming platform, Twitch has become one of the most important tools for modern gamers, particularly when it comes to building a career in the field. But even though Twitch makes watching streams and chatting with like-minded people incredibly enjoyable, sometimes it can become nearly addictive, while other times you might simply find it’s not the right option for you. Regardless, there could be many reasons why you might wish to delete your Twitch account.
However, it’s important to note that Twitch actually offers two different options – permanent/temporary disabling and complete deletion. If you decide on one of these options, here is how you can go through with them:

Disabling an account on Twitch
Whether permanently or temporarily, disabling your account on Twitch is an incredibly simple process that could be done in just a couple of seconds. Just follow the steps below:
- Load the Twitch website in your preferred browser, and then log into your account.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click on the account icon to open the menu, and then choose Settings.
- Once the page has loaded, scroll down to the bottom, where you will find the Disabling Your Twitch Account section. Here, press the Disable Account tab.
- On the following page, you will be asked to confirm your password. You will also have the option to specify your reasons for leaving to Twitch, although this is not a necessary step.
- Finally, press the Disable Account tab to permanently leave Twitch.
Note: When disabling an account, Twitch won’t delete all of your account data, as it offers the option of restoring your account later on.
Reenabling a deleted Twitch account
In case you’ve made a mistake, or you simply decide to activate your account on Twitch again at some point in the future, the service will now allow you to do so quite simply as well.
All you have to do is load the Twitch website, and log into your account using the old information. A pop-up window will then appear, asking you whether you wish to reenable your old account. Simply press the Reactivate tab to enable your old account, and continue with your normal Twitch activities.
Deleting an account on Twitch
The service also provides the option to delete your account on Twitch permanently, as well as any data that might be stored on the account.
Considering the fact that this is a permanent decision there’s no coming back from, deleting your account entirely isn’t quite as easy. You will have to follow this link in order to access the Twitch page where you can delete your account. Remember to log into your account before you do so.
Once you load the account deletion page, you will have the option to specify your reasons for leaving to Twitch, although this is not necessary. Then, all you have to do is press the Delete Account tab in order to delete your account on Twitch, along with all of your data.
Remember, this is an irreversible decision, meaning that you won’t have the option to enable your old account in the future.
Whether you want to temporarily disable or entirely delete your personal account on Twitch, you can easily do so by following this comprehensive guide.
