How to Delete Saved Posts on Instagram

After Instagram introduced the Saved tab, the days of making screenshots or copying and pasting text when we wanted to save something became a thing of the past. The Save feature allowed us to bookmark any posts we came across into a private tab on our profile, giving us the opportunity to have a number of useful posts stored in a handy and easily accessible place.

Thankfully, just as bookmarking Instagram posts for later use is easy and convenient, so is removing them once we no longer have use for our saved photos and videos. To that end, here’s how you can delete your saved posts on Instagram:

Unsaving individual posts

If you want to remove one photo or video that is currently stored in your Saved tab, simply follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Instagram app on your phone or tablet, and log into your account.
  2. Tap your profile icon (bottom-right corner of the screen) and then open the hamburger menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Here, press Saved. Now, you will see a list of all the posts you previously saved, including any Collections you might have made.
  4. To unsave an individual post, simply tap the photo or video you wish to remove, and wait until it fits the whole screen.
  5. Once the post loads, you will see a small black Bookmark button underneath it. Simply press this Bookmark button to turn it from black to white.
  6. The selected post will now be removed from your Saved tab.

Unsaving several posts at once

To delete several previously saved posts, or even all at once, simply follow these steps:

  4. Press All Posts to access all of the photos and videos you previously saved.
  5. Here, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen. Press Select.
  6. You can now select any posts you want to remove.
  7. Once all the posts you wish to delete are selected, tap the Unsave button at the bottom, and then press Unsave once more to confirm.
  8. The selected posts will now be removed from your Saved tab.

Deleting a saved Collection

If you previously created a Collection of saved posts, you could also delete the whole Collection at once. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Instagram app on your phone or tablet, and log into your account.
  2. Tap your profile icon (bottom-right corner of the screen) and then open the hamburger menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Here, press Saved. Now, you will see a list of all the Collections you made, including the automatically generated All Posts collection.
  4. Here, tap the Collection you’d like to delete. Keep in mind that you can only delete a Collection you personally made in its entirety.
  5. Once the Collection is opened, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen.
  6. Then, press Edit Collection. A new screen will now appear with a number of editing options.
  7. To remove the Collection in question, simply tap the red Delete Collection option, and press Delete once again to confirm.
  8. The entire Collection will now be deleted.

Even though Instagram doesn’t yet provide a quick and simple solution for deleting all saved posts at once, any unwanted photos or videos you previously saved can easily be removed with these simple steps.
