Ubisoft has produced some of the most beloved game franchises in the gaming world, from Rayman and Prince of Persia to Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry. However, in order to play their games, you must first have a Ubisoft account.
If you wish to learn how to delete a Ubisoft account (for whatever reason), then follow our tutorial to learn how. For all other information, or if you have additional queries, please see our FAQ section at the end of this article.
Note: There is no in-built or easy way to delete your Ubisoft/uPlay/Connect account. You must contact a Ubisoft support team member and ask them to do it for you. Our tutorial instructs you on how to get in touch, and what to say.

FAQs
What do you need a Ubisoft account for?
Ubisoft is a French game developer which has had some incredible success with cross-platform games such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, For Honor, Prince of Persia, Tom Clancy’s, Just Dance, Watch Dogs, Rayman, and Rabbids. These Ubisoft games can be played across many consoles, including Xbox and PlayStation, as well as on your computer, most often via Steam.
However, Ubisoft does not allow you to play any of their games without first having a Ubisoft account (previously known as uPlay, now as Ubisoft Connect). This is simply the developer’s decision, and cannot be contested. Ubisoft accounts tie your game progress, data, ownership, and XP to one place (in addition to that stored on your console or device).
Only by registering a Ubisoft account can you play their library of games, and through the account, your experience and various other details will be tracked and logged.
Why would I want to delete a Ubisoft account?
There is any number of reasons why you might want to delete a Ubisoft account, the most probable being that you no longer play any Ubisoft games and simply want to tie up loose ends. Of course, it may be that you find Ubisoft’s service and/or games so unsatisfactory that you don’t want to have an account with them.
Whatever your reason for wanting to delete your Ubisoft account, you can do so by following our tutorial above. However, we must remind you to be aware of the consequences of deleting your Ubisoft account before you do so.
What happens to my saved data on Ubisoft games when I delete my account?
When you delete your Ubisoft account, the deletion is usually permanent. All experience you have garnered through playing Ubisoft games will be deleted. All records of your ownership of Ubisoft games (including the keys you’ve used to activate versions of Ubisoft games bought on CD or downloaded via platforms like Steam) will also be deleted.
This means that deleting your Ubisoft account will in effect disable you from ever playing the same copy of your Ubisoft games again (except for with console games). Furthermore, your personal data and information linking you to Ubisoft and your Ubisoft games will be deleted.
You should make sure that you are fully aware of these consequences, and have carefully considered them, before following through with the deletion of your Ubisoft account.
Can I recover an accidentally deleted Ubisoft account?
In most situations, no, you cannot recover an accidentally deleted Ubisoft account. This is because it’s impossible to ‘accidentally’ delete your account. You need to actually contact Ubisoft customer support and ask a support team member to delete your account, thus the implication is that you’ve thought through your actions and are decided.
Of course, if you are deleting one Ubisoft account with the intention to create a new one, you could always ask the team member you’re speaking with to transfer your game keys to the new account. This would, in effect, recover the most important part of your Ubisoft account.
You could always try to recover a deleted account by getting back in contact with the Ubisoft teams and stating your case, but be aware that the likelihood they will be able to recover your account is small.
