  1. Open up the Google Docs app on your smartphone or tablet, and then open up the document with the page(s) in it you wish to delete

  3. Next, locate the page(s) you wish to delete within the document
  4. If the page is blank, tap to position your cursor at the top of the next page, then from the keyboard on your device, simply press the back/delete arrow.

  5. If the page has content in it, then double-tap on any part of the content (on any word, say) to highlight it, then use the highlight toggles to drag the highlight until it covers all of the page’s content. Then, using the keyboard on your device, press the back arrow/delete button

    1. Note: If the content is erased from the page, but a blank page remains, simply follow steps 4 & 4a from above (re: blank page deletion)

Frequently asked questions

Why would I want to delete a page in Google Docs?

Google Docs is a fantastic word processor. Free to use and accessible to all with an internet connection and Google account, you can create, edit, view, and share documents across the internet in seconds collaborating on projects with others, or constructing your masterpiece in private.

Of course, any word processor has its glitches, and sometimes you may find that a blank, unwanted page has somehow made its way into the middle of your document, screwing up the format and appearance of it (which is not ideal, especially if it’s for work or a presentation). Similarly, you may be editing your document and simply decide that a page of the material you’d deliberately input is actually no longer necessary.

In both situations (as well as in many others), it’s important to know how to quickly and efficiently delete the unwanted page in Google Docs. Lucky for you, that’s what we’re here to teach you all about. Simply follow the tutorials above to learn how.

Can I undo an accidental page deletion in Google Docs?

As with any decision you make or action you execute on Google Docs, you can reverse a page deletion by ‘undoing’ it, either via the keyboard shortcut (CTRL/CMD + Z), or by clicking ‘Edit’ in the menu bar, and then selecting ‘Undo’.

If several actions have taken place between the erroneous deletion and your present position, you may have to press ‘undo’ several times over before your deleted page is returned (though note that this will of course also ‘undo’ all of the actions you’ve taken since the deletion).

Can I delete multiple pages at once in Google Docs?

Sure! By clicking and dragging your mouse to highlight content across multiple pages, and then pressing or clicking ‘delete’, you can quickly erase multiple pages from Google Docs, along with their content.
