How to Change the Font Size on Facebook for iPhone

If you’re using the Facebook application on your iPhone (or even iPad) you can use the built-in Accessibility feature to easily change the font size on Facebook, thanks to Apple’s Dynamic Type. It’s important to note that you can’t only change the font size on Facebook; these settings will also change the font in all the built-in apps, such as Phone, Contacts, Mail, Calendar, etc. as well as any other apps that support Dynamic Type.

However, if you would still like to proceed, here is how you can change the font size on your Apple device:

Adjusting the font size

  1. Go to your iPhone’s home screen, and then open Settings (grey gear icon).
  2. Select Display & Brightness, and then tap on Text Size.
  3. Now, simply drag the provided slider, in order to adjust the font size to your preference.

Note: You might need to restart the Facebook app before the new font settings can appear.

Making the text even bigger

If the settings above didn’t help you choose a font size large enough for your comfort, you can make the text appear even bigger, by following these simple steps:

  1. Go to your iPhone’s home screen, and then open Settings (grey gear icon).
  2. Select Accessibility, and then tap on Display & Text Size.
  3. Next, click on Larger Text to find bigger font options.
  4. Now, simply drag the provided slider, in order to adjust the font size to your preference.

Note: If you make the font size too large, you might find it hard to press buttons, or use other functions in different apps. In that case, simply go back to Settings, and change the font size to a more appropriate option.

Using the Zoom feature

If you don’t want to change the font size in all of your apps, but you would still like to enlarge certain apps for easier readability, you also have the option of using Apple’s Zoom feature.

Enabling Zoom

  1. Go to your iPhone’s home screen, and then open Settings (grey gear icon).
  2. Select Accessibility, and then tap on Zoom (under the Vision section).
  3. Next, tap the switch next to Zoom, in order to turn it on.
  4. Under Maximum Zoom Level, at the bottom of the screen, you can drag the slider to adjust your preferred Zoom level.

Using Zoom

Once you’ve enabled Zoom, you can easily use it by following these tips:

  • Double-tap on the screen using three fingers to show or hide the magnifier (enable or disable Zoom). You’ll be able to do this in nearly every app, including Facebook.
  • Drag three fingers around the screen to move the Zoom to another area of the display.
  • Use one or two fingers to scroll in the zoomed-in section of the screen.
  • Tap and hold the anchor to move the magnifying glass around the screen.

Note: In case you ever want to disable the Zoom feature, simply follow the same steps described above.
