How to Change the Font Size in Google Chrome

Even though the default size and style of Google Chrome’s font is generally considered to be a suitable option for most people, sometimes you might have difficulties reading the original text size, whether it’s due to vision problems, or even a particularly large or small monitor.

Regardless of the reason, the best course of action would be to change Chrome’s default font size, in an effort to make reading that much more pleasant. Here’s are some ways you could do just that:

Adjusting the font size in Chrome

If you wish to adjust the original font size in Google Chrome entirely, including all text and all pages you visit, then follow these simple steps:

  1. Firstly, load Google Chrome on your computer.
  2. Press the 3 dots in the top-right part of the screen.
  3. Here, select Settings.
  4. On the following page, find the Appearance segment.
  5. In this segment, press the box located next to Font Size, and then choose your preferred font size, from Very Small all the way to Very Large.
  6. Finally, you can simply close this tab, as your new adjustments will be applied automatically.

Adjusting the font size in more detail

In case the font size options mentioned above weren’t quite enough to satisfy your needs, Chrome also offers some more detailed settings that might help. Just follow the steps below:

  1. In Google Chrome, press the 3 dots in the top-right part of the screen.
  2. Click on the Settings option, and then find the Appearance segment.
  3. In this segment, press the arrow located next to Customize Fonts.
  4. Here, simply drag the slider next to Font Size in order to set the text to the exact point size you wish. Although 16 is the original, you have the option to set the size of your font from 9 to 72 points.
  5. If you wish, you could also adjust the Minimum Font Size here using the same method, to ensure no text is ever too tiny for you to comfortably read in Chrome.
  6. Finally, you can simply close this tab, as your new settings will be applied automatically.

Utilizing the Zoom feature

If you simply want to see one specific webpage better, you could also utilize Chrome’s Zoom option, instead of adjusting the original font size in the entire browser. Here’s how:

  1. In Google Chrome, press the 3 dots in the top-right part of the screen.
  2. Right beside the Zoom option, simply press on + or – in order to zoom in or out, respectively.
  3. Alternatively, you could also click on the Ctrl/Command and + or Ctrl/Command and – shortcuts on the keyboard simultaneously to zoom in or out of a specific page.

And there you have it! Whether you wish to adjust the size of the font on only one page, or even the entire Google Chrome browser, you can now do so quickly and easily, just by following a couple of simple steps.
