Please keep in mind that non steam games won’t receive updates via Steam or give you functionalities that Steam gives to Steam games, in essence it just creates a shortcut to your non Steam game in your Steam libraray.
Add a shortcut to a non Steam game in your Steam library
- Open the Steam application
- Navigate to Games -> Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library
- Select the program or game you would like to add to your Games library
- Click Add Selected Programs
The game or program is now added to your games library and you should be able to launch it from Steam.
